Divinum Runes: All 25 Runes and the 5 Build Themes

What Runes Do in Divinum

Runes are Divinum’s build system. The store page is unusually direct about the design goal: a flat “+5% damage” item is explicitly called out as the kind of thing you will not find. Runes instead provide unique bonuses or modifiers that change how you approach a fight — and the page notes that great power often comes with trade-offs.

Three things follow from that, and all three are visible in the achievement list rather than in marketing copy:

  • Runes go in slots, and slots are earned. An Extra Edge unlocks when you open a rune slot; Word of Power requires unlocking all rune slots. So slot count is progression, not a fixed number.
  • Runes are meant to be combined into sets. Five separate achievements ask for specific sets of runes, which is the game telling you which build themes exist.
  • Anti-synergy is a real thing. There is an achievement, What Could Go Wrong?, for equipping a set of runes with extreme anti-synergy — trade-offs are severe enough to be a punchline.

All 25 Divinum Runes

This list is the complete rune roster, in the order a post-release 100% collection route picks them up. It comes from a launch-week capture of the Rune Collector achievement run (the achievement itself reads “Find every Rune”), where each rune is timestamped as it is collected.

Three notes on reading this table honestly:

  1. The names are exact. They come from a capture of an actual collection run, not from a pre-release guess.
  2. “Collected around” is route position, not a map coordinate. Runes 6–8 (Aegis, Focus, Might) and 15–17 (Sacrifice, Audacity, Blasphemy) and 22–24 (Wisdom, Dominion, Impatience) are picked up in tight clusters, which is why they share a bracket.
  3. Per-rune effects are not published anywhere official. Sigil Games has not released a rune table, and this site does not invent effect text. If you see a rune list elsewhere with confident numeric effects for all 25, check whether it was written before the game shipped.

The Five Confirmed Rune Build Themes

You do not have to guess which builds the game supports. Five achievements each require a set of runes built around one theme — that is a designed archetype, stated by the game itself:

AchievementBuild theme it confirms
ElementalistElemental-themed runes
OccultistDarkness-themed runes
DefenderDefense-focused runes
SpiritualistSkill-focused runes
RunebinderRunes focused on rune cooldowns

A sixth, What Could Go Wrong?, asks for a set with extreme anti-synergy — worth doing once for the achievement, and worth knowing about because it tells you trade-offs can actively fight each other rather than just costing you a little.

There is a seventh build-adjacent achievement, Skill Damage Build territory: Spiritualist is the skill-focused set, while Arcane Potential asks you to unlock every Skill. Runes and skills are separate systems that end up in the same build.

How to Get More Rune Slots

Slots gate everything above. Two achievements mark the path:

  • An Extra Edge — unlock a rune slot. This is your first slot expansion.
  • Word of Power — unlock all rune slots. This is the completion marker for the system.

Slots come from progression, so the practical answer to “how do I get more rune slots” is: keep advancing the walkthrough and clearing content rather than farming one area. Related progression achievements include Warden Legacy (unlock a new core ability), Trained to Perfection (unlock all Masteries) and Unstoppable, which specifically pairs conquering the Crucible with unlocking the second Fury slot.

Where Runes Come From

The store page names three sources, and the achievement list backs each one:

  • Exploration and secrets — the island runs above and below ground, and Treasure Hunter (break 100 Sanctite deposits) and Grace / Attunement (10,000 and 20,000 Sanctite collected) reward you for pulling the world apart. See collectibles.
  • Bosses — the store page states outright that runes come from fighting bosses. See the boss guide.
  • Trials — there is an achievement literally about trial rewards, and the developer has described the runestone trials as optional challenges. See the trials guide.

Rune FAQ

How many runes are in Divinum? 25. The count comes from a full Rune Collector capture, and Rune Collector is the achievement for finding every rune.

Is there a best rune in Divinum? Nobody can honestly answer that in launch week. There is no official effect table, no patch history to read balance from, and no established community consensus yet. What is knowable is which themes the game rewards — the five sets above.

Do runes have downsides? Yes. The store page says power often comes with trade-offs, and the anti-synergy achievement exists specifically because some combinations work against each other.

Can I respec runes? Runes are equipped into slots, and multiple achievements require swapping to entirely different themed sets, so sets are meant to be changed rather than locked in.
